Participation in the WCNC 2018

The IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC) is the world premier wireless event that brings together industry professionals, academics, and individuals from government agencies and other institutions to exchange information and ideas on advancing the state-of-the-art in wireless communications and networking technology. The IEEE WCNC 2018 edition was held in Barcelona (Spain) on April 15-18, 2018 at the Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB), and it featured a comprehensive technical program with numerous technical sessions on various aspects related to wireless research, technology, applications, and services.

On this occasion, the INTRIG research group was present with two papers during the second poster session student program. Danny Alex Lachos Perez presented the paper “Broker-assisted Multi-domain Network Service Orchestration”, which is a federation networking proposal to discover resource and topology information from different administrative domains leveraging the IETF Application-Layer Traffic Optimization (ALTO) Protocol (see related post on the presentation at IETF 101). The second paper “On the Krack Attack: Reproducing Vulnerability and a Software-Defined Mitigation Approach” (author: Ramon dos Reis Fontes) presents a proof-of-concept implementation (using the Mininet-WiFi emulation platform) to reproduce and mitigate a recently unveiled Krack vulnerability, also known as “Krack attack”.
